Regardless of the reasons why adolescents play violent video games, consequences of such play have been revealed to negatively impact social and emotional functioning in children, adolescents, and young adults (Anderson, C. A., & Bushman, B. J. (2001). Effects of violent video games on aggressive behavior, aggressive cognition, aggressive affect, physiological arousal, and pro-social behavior: a meta-analytic review of the scientific literature. Psychological Science, 12, 353–359). They have just produced a meta-analytic review that offers empirical support for the contention that violent video games guide to aggressive behavior. According to (Borum, R. (2000). Assessing violence risk among youth. Journal of Clinical Psychology, 56(10), 1263–1288.) Risk of violence is relative in that violent acts arise in particular settings as in  school and under specific circumstances for example peer rejection.

Formulating Hypothesis

From the above discussion, and the literature review, one thing that becomes clear is that there is a strong link between the use of violent video games and the aggressive behavior, of the adolescent boys. (1)The first hypothesis is that adolescent boys tend to get more influenced then adolescent girls. (2)There is another link that aggressive boys prefer aggressive video games more then less aggressive boys. (3) This leads to change in the social and emotional functions of the children. (4) The violence experienced by the young boys in form of videogames or from surroundings is not absolute it keeps on changing and, youths at risk change.
