Abstract: animals have rights. It is not appropriate for humans to use them for scientific testing and for their own benefit. Many people have differing opinions.

Everyone loves animals. We have a special relationship with animals and people generally develop a bond with them. Due to this kind of a relationship, we are unable to bear the thought of animals being used in the laboratory for experiments.

There are many companies, particularly those that manufacture cosmetics, which still conduct extremely painful and cruel tests on animals to see whether or not their product will have any adverse reactions.

These live animals are put to danger in order to test products however there is no law in existence which states that companies must test their products on animals or carry out any form of animal testing.

Rights of Animals

There are those people as well who believe that anything could be done to animals and they can be treated in any way. They believe that God has given us the right and freedom to do such a thing and it has been mentioned in the bible as well (Genesis). It states that man has been given the power and authority over other creatures.

Believe who believe that animal testing is okay also believe that if the testing leads to something getting achieved in terms of education or adding to scientific knowledge, helping to improve the health of humans the it is acceptable to be carried out. It is then acceptable in their eyes to torture or cause pain to the animals which undergo experimentation.

My opinion however differs from the above mentioned one as I feel that killing and torturing animals is something inhumane and certainly unethical particularly when other methods can be made use of.

Animals which are already ill prove to be quite helpful in making people learn and helping them test new drugs along with trying out various medical procedures. Not only do animals benefit from the discoveries which are made but so do humans.
