Encephalitis is prevalent epidemics in tropical regions of Asia like China, Japan, Philippines, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Indian and Southeast Asia. The disease causes an inflammation of the parenchyma of the brain leading to neuropsychological dysfunction. Encephalitis can be caused by fungal, bacteria and autoimmune disorders, but the leading cause is viral.
The Asian Encephalitis is commonly called Japanese Encephalitis (JEV) and occurs frequently during the rainy season and summer seasons. These seasons are characterized by the high numbers of mosquitoes which have been identified as the leading causative agents for JEV.
