Essay: Monitored feeding
Hunger is the most common reason for baby cries. Persons in charge of infants should ensure that they observe a scheduled feeding patter to avoid fussy episodes (Long, 2004, p. 107). It is recommended that a baby be bottle-fed at least every half an hour when they are not asleep.
The same should happen to breast feeding where mothers are advised to adopt a feeding schedule for their babies. This will always keep the baby satisfied and avoid crying associate with hunger.
2.4.8 Encouraging play
Idleness of a baby’s mind may make it cry. Playing keeps the babies mind distracted from possible cause of crying. Buying a suitable play item such as a doll helps much in this. Playing should be tried after all other possible reasons for cry are eliminated such as hunger, pain, sickness, or even tiredness.
