Abortion is the procedure carried out to intentionally end a pregnancy after the child has been conceived. Through the process of abortion, women are able to terminate their pregnancy however it involves a great deal of risk. Not only is the health and safety of the mother at risk, it involves killing the fetus/embryo. It is due to the fact that an unborn child is killed that the topic of abortion is one of controversy and varied opinions all over the world, particularly in America.
People who support abortion put forward the argument that the embryo which is being killed has not developed into a person yet and so the killing can still be justified. They believe that unless it cannot be proven that the fetus inside the mother is a person, abortion should be allowed and considered to be okay to carry out.
People who oppose the concept of abortion believe the opposite. According to them, the fetus is a person and it is the responsibility of the government to ban the process of abortion unless it can be proven that the embryo inside the mother’s womb is not a person. People who are opposed to abortion tend to legitimize their opposition in terms of religious beliefs though it is not mentioned in the Bible that abortion is not..
