ADHD is not an easy thing to define; it does not have any definite definition. This is particularly due to the fact that no medical proof is available that a disorder of this type even exists. There is no test which can be given to a child in order to find out whether he/she suffers from the disorder. This is no diagnostic criteria by which ADHD can be diagnosed; no biological signs, no physical signs and no blood test can prove the prevalence of ADHD. There are no brain scan findings which tell about this illness nor does any bio-chemical imbalance however there is contradictory evidence relating to this fact. No test can be done on a child physically to show that he has ADHD (Breggin). Children who suffer from ADHD and take medicines for it have to face the side effects of the medicine as well. There are side effects which parents must be aware of as well and they need to be educated about them.
