This term paper is about the advertising in 1950’s. Ninety percent of US households owned a television in 1960 and became truly powerful medium to reach consumers. For the first time, Americans in 1963 said that they got more of their news from television than newspapers.

I wonder how many people imagined this phenomenon in 1940s. Later in the 1950s, more and more entertainment programs were available to meet the viewer’s desire. The implication for this is that even though Internet activities are mainly for seeking out information it is not because Internet users just want that feature of Internet but because there are not enough entertainment features on the Web. This aspect of Internet should be focused on by advertisers in order to fully integrate the Internet as their media choice.

In 1972, due to the great concern regarding the impact of TV advertising on children, NAB and the networks agreed to reduce commercial time in children’s weekend fare from 16 minutes an hour to 12 minutes an hour.
