This essay discusses alcohol and its effects. Various substances have different affects on the human body. Alcohol too is a substance which has positive as well as negative affects on a person’s health and body.

Various substances have different affects on the human body. Alcohol too is a substance which has positive as well as negative affects on a person’s health and body. Alcohol is a substance which can kill the brain cells and if used excessively, it can have severe negative affects on the physical and mental health of an individual. People often think that drinking alcohol will help them forget their problems. This may be true to a certain extent but the effect of this lasts for a short term. The costs of drinking are definitely worse than the benefits a person may receive from drinking.

Even though consuming alcohol is not considered to be a crime, it often leads people to behave in ways which may be harmful to themselves and others and the way in which they behave tends to be the opposite of how they normally would behave. What a person does not do while sober for example driving a car at 95 mph, he might do while under the influence of alcohol. This is because alcohol impairs a person’s judgment, eyesight and thinking and makes him/her behave in uncontrollable ways.
