Smoking is considered harmful for the smoker as well as to the people around him (Robin McKie). Even though smokers are in a difficult position and those around them are in an even worse position, there are precautions which can be taken to reduce the problems which smoking causes. There are however non-smokers who need to be considered as well. Banning smoking can certainly be beneficial to non-smokers as they will no longer inhale the smoke from the atmosphere which is released through smoking. This would then reduce the risk of non-smokers developing cancer and diseases related to smoking.
