Bengal tigers are one of the largest big cats that roam certain parts of India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Myanmar. Due to poaching and hunting for their beautiful striped skin there are only around 4,000 Bengal Tigers left in the wild with around 300 hundred in zoos all over the world. There was a time when these tigers were scattered in many regions of Asia but due to hunting poaching there population has decreased tremendously over a century. Tigers are probably one of the most fearsome big cats due to their ferocious nature and huge size. An average adult male Bengal tiger weighs around 300-500 pounds with most of the males averaging 480 and females around 300. They are 6 to 9 feet long and hunt wild deer, pigs, fish, birds, cows and other mammalian species. Tigers are known to kill anything when hungry. The sole diet of a tiger is only meat and it does not eat anything other than meat.
