This essay is on Bill Gates. rom the very beginning, Gates had little curiosity in working on software unless there was the budding of commercializing it in some way and making money from it. Early on, he established the ability to get the better of a deal. He was able to see through circumstances and size up who had what to gain, and verified an ability to skew things in his favor. Gates solemn his first commercial ventures under the name “Traf-O-Data.”

Gates solemn his first commercial ventures under the name “Traf-O-Data.” He recruited seventh and eighth graders to transcribe traffic-counter tapes onto punch cards, and then sold traffic-flow charts to municipalities for less than was being charged by competitors, who were scrutinizing the tapes manually. At 19, after he and Paul Allen had tailored the BASIC language to the world’s first personal computer, rather than charge a flat licensing fee, which would have been typical at that time, Gates organized a deal where he would earn royalties on every copy of BASIC sold.
