This term paper discusses some issues related to community relations. The purpose of this analysis segment is simply to get some idea vague and unstructured though it may be of the parameters and structure of the problem situation, so that a variety of possible and hopefully relevant choices can be made apparent.
Stage 1. Explore the problem situation within the real-world frame of thinking. An extensive amount of information needs to be gathered e.g., organizational history, society, structure, types and number of stakeholders, their perspectives and assumptions. The purpose of this analysis segment is simply to get some idea vague and unstructured though it may be of the parameters and structure of the problem situation, so that a variety of possible and hopefully relevant choices can be made apparent.
Stage 2. Express the problem situation. The product of the earlier stage is used to develop a rich picture of the situation being examined. This picture should portray the structure and processes of the organization and the environment in which it functions. Structure is the physical layout, reporting structure, hierarchy, and the patterns of communication, formal and informal. Process is the organization’s essential activities that are resource allocation, deployment, monitoring, and control. The relation between structure and process should exemplify the problems, tasks, and elements of the environment in a way that is easy to comprehend. It should identify relevant themes; develop a shared understanding of diverse perspectives.
Stage 3. Root definitions of relevant systems in the problem situation. This is normally the most difficult part of the process. Simply put, a root narrative is a statement defining what is relevant to the system and who is either affected by it or could affect it.
