Computers play four roles in crimes: They provide as objects, focus, apparatus, and signs.

• Computers are the part of crime when they are damaged or stolen. There are several instances of computers being blasted, blown up, damaged, hit with rounded instruments, kicked, flattened and infected. The damage may be worldwide, or accidental.

• Computers play the role of focus when they are the setting in which expertise perform crimes. PC virus assault fall into this category. When automatic offense takes place, computers can be the subjects of attacks.
• The third role of computers in crime is as means enabling criminals to construct false information or plan and manage crimes.
• Computers are also used as code to deceive victims.

There are two major classes of offences, in one, a computer linked to a network is the target of the crime; this is the case of attacks on network confidentiality, reliability and or availability. The other group consists of conventional offences- such as stealing, deception, and imitations- which are committed with the help or through computers connected to a system, computer networks and connected information and technology. Computer crime vary from computer scam, pilfering and imitation to breach of privacy, the proliferation of harmful substance, the deception of prostitution, and organized crime.
