Sample Essay – Education

Words 1,624

Section I

I observed a kindergarten class, and it was surprisingly very informative and gave an insight into how teachers actually try to teach very young students. The class turned out to be very interesting since it was for young children who need a strong base for their future education and prospects. This class was a good example of a structured classroom environment. The teacher was using the direct instruction approach with a preset curriculum and a more outdated form of teaching.

The teacher was instructing the student to work or to do certain activities and she was also trying to engage the children into participating, what I saw was that not all the children seemed interested or were responding several were taking interest and basically repeating what the teacher had already instructed them earlier.

The activities were varied and attractive and seemed that the teacher had spent a lot of time in preparing for the activities. The children overall were well behaved and cooperative.

Although some were interested in other things. One student in particular would keep on interrupting the teacher and ask her unrelated questions which she was best trying to answer him. The classroom was very colorful with several different posters and hangings that were attractive as well as educational for the students.
