Karl Marx has influenced the creation of the modern world to a great extent. He was born in Germany on 5th May 1818, and received his education at the most prestigious schools there. He was a philosopher, an economist but is best known as a revolutionary communist whose ideas have been building blocks for many communist regimes in the century that followed.

He was one of the most influential socialist thinkers of the 19th century. He is often given the title of the father of communism and in his life, was both a scholar as well as a political activist (Sowell, 1985).  This paper looks at the phenomenon of class system which is very prevalent in the British Society.

Marx was a disbeliever of capitalism and advocated communism and a classless society where the means of production are commonly owned. Marx blamed capitalism for exploiting workers and wanted workers to organize themselves into a revolution so that their struggle would grant them greater autonomy and lead to the establishment of a communist society where there is not private, but shared ownership of the means of production and subsistence. The proletariat would then own more than just their capacity to work and they will not be paid just the minimum amount they need to support their families (Sowell, 1985).
