Anything we consume which is inappropriate for our health is likely to have certain negative consequences and effects. Some of these effects may be short term and disappear within a short period of time. Some things however tend to have long term effects which results in serious illnesses.
Marijuana is a drug which is quite commonly used in many countries of the world. It is an illegal drug and one which can cause serious harm to an individual’s health. If consumed too often and in large quantities, marijuana is said to have certain long term effects which can be extremely painful and harmful for the individual. These effects however may not show up immediately; some often show up in the later years of life.
One of the most common effects of using marijuana is the development of cancer. Marijuana contains chemicals which cause cancer. It would be unjust to say that it is only marijuana which causes the development of cancer; this isn’t true. People who smoke marijuana often tend to smoke other drugs and cigarettes. All of these combined can have serious and drastic effects on an individual. Smoking cigarettes contribute even more to the negative effects of smoking drugs such as marijuana. Each of these things has its own negative effect and combined together can lead to a variety of problems for users.
