In Dunning Schneider’s work, it was found that people have the tendency of think of leadership as characterized by ambition and dominance as representation qualities that resemble those stereotype qualities of men[1].
In Addition, the stereotype qualities of women are sensitivity and friendliness and are seen as less important for leadership quality. These stereotypes have not allowed the promotion of women to leadership positions. There are many qualities required to make an effective leader, the question therefore is, whether there are inherent competencies, behaviors or skills that affect the leadership performance of women and if they are susceptible to gender bias. Such biasness also exposes the impressions of men and women leaders and how their perceptions affect their performance in business.
