This essay discusses feminism. Feminism is the rise in the fight for women’s equality. Women are generally treated as being unequal to men and being inferior to them. In the past, many women dealt with this general view which people had.
Feminism is the rise in the fight for women’s equality. Women are generally treated as being unequal to men and being inferior to them. In the past, many women dealt with this general view which people had. These days however no woman is ready to accept being unequal to men; women all believe that they are equal to men if not better and many have fought to make this view accepted. The fight for women’s equality is known as feminism.
Feminism has said to have had 3 major waves, the first of which came about in the 19th century. This is when people became aware of the inequalities women had to face and this was seen as a response to a movement which took place in the middle of the 19th century. This movement was known as the Abolition movement. Feminism has certainly progressed since the 19th century however its basic values and the values for which feminists are fighting still remain the same. Every feminist works to create equality and equal chances for women.
Feminism does not undermine men; it simply tries to make people aware of the fact that women too deserve a good quality life and steps should be taken to ensure this. This view applies to all societies because the general view held by people is that of men being superior and better than men. In most instances, this view is not true.
Feminism has come about to make the voice of women be heard. Women have been oppressed in every known society for a long time and no one has thought their treatment as wrong. People need to wake up and realize that women too deserve a good life and should be given the chance to avail opportunities which can help them succeed in life. It has been hard to…
