The purpose of this memo is to propose a collaborative effort to improve the child’s performance and improve the teaching strategy. Parents-as-Trainers can also facilitate professional development opportunities for school families. In this regard as parents have most important role in the development of a child, we need your cooperation.
Some ways parents can become actively involved in their child’s education is by raising a well-behaved and motivated child. Parents can stress to children the value of education; teach good work habits, like how to take responsibility; and teach children to be respectful and have good manners. Parents can model a “love of learning” to promote academic success. The parent plays significant roles in the development of the learner. The parent is the first teacher in a child’s life. The parent is an advocate for the child, when it is necessary to negotiate with the school representatives.
Reading and writing at home should be an everyday routine. Parents who read to their children before they enter school give their children a jump-start toward reading success. Talking to children about books and stories read to them also supports reading achievement. Other ways to encourage reading and writing is reading, listening to children read, and talking about what is being read; telling stories and sharing ideas; and corresponding with family and friends by writing letters or email messages. Technology tools can be used to communicate and collaborate with peers, parents, and the larger community in order to nurture student learning.
