This essay discusses the power structure of society. Our society is formed like an organization which is highly structured and the roles of the masses and the governing people are defined to such a great detail that any action or thought that goes against the company policy in this case the government policy as a deviant group and not a part of the society in fact they are considered a threat.

Explain why the power structure of our society in particular and the masses in general views civil rights groups, voter rights groups, anti-war groups, environmentalists, anti-poverty activists, criminal justice reform groups, etc. as deviants and a threat to society.

Although we seemingly appear to be the most avid proponents of civil rights, liberty and individualism, however this is just a notion and the liberty that we enjoy is limited to what boundaries are set for us. Another important fact is the role of large corporations many liberal critics of the power structure hold the large corporations responsible for the conservative attitude of the society and since the different groups question the set structure and are there to revolutionize and make people aware of their rights and what is really going on in the world, that is the reason that these groups are marginalized and called socially deviant.

The power structure also does not want the masses to become aware that what these groups from environmentalists like Green Peace and anti war demonstrators are talking about is the betterment of the masses not only in America but also in other parts of the world.

These are a few reasons why people regard these groups as a threat to themselves and the society and feel that these people are a minority of extremist out to make trouble rather than anything else.
