This is an essay on radiation. It starts off by discussing Light. Light can be defined as a particular type of electromagnetic radiation, which travels in waves. A wave is measured in wavelength, which is the distance between two crests, amplitude on the other hand is the magnitude of disturbance of the wave.

This chapter discusses light, its properties electromagnetism, radiation and also to laws. It starts off by discussing Light. Light can be defined as a particular type of electromagnetic radiation, which travels in waves. A wave is measured in wavelength, which is the distance between two crests, amplitude on the other hand is the magnitude of disturbance of the wave. Diffraction polarization and interference are three properties of light, which make it  a radiation.

Then electromagnetism is discussed starting with electrons and protons. An atom has protons and electrons positively and negatively charged and equal in number. Any charged object is surrounded by an electric fields,  and it determines the force on the object. Electric field decreases square of a distance from its position. When a charged particle moves its energy is transferred throughout the universe. Thus information travels at the speed of light, in it both electric and magnetic effects are involved therefore it is called magnetic field.

The chapter then discusses frequency of light. Discussing the effect on light when it enters a prism. When light passes through a prism the bam becomes bent or refracted, and when different frequencies of light are refracted at different rate a spectrum is formed. Red has the longer wavelength and blue has the shortest. The ability of earth to absorb light is called opacity and it varies depending on wavelength.
