While the poor and the low income groups will be stuck in the same circle where although they may have some material wealth like a car or better clothes or cell phones, however in economic terms their incomes and education and even the health services will remain the same.
But this does not mean that the disparities cannot or should not be removed. If the American system and the social fabric of the society becomes more equitable in its distribution of wealth and the those from the less well-off social backgrounds are provided the same opportunities as those from the more affluent families then there are chances that there will be more upward mobility in relative terms as individuals from the low income families would get a chance to change their socio-economic status.
