This term paper discusses death and how both the writers view it and how I view death personally, in addition my opinion of the two essays and how they regard death. The first essay “The Fear of Death” by Kubbler-Ross deals with death as a reality. She thinks that death is a part of every person’s existence and everybody ahs to die, but at the same time death has been regarded with fear and loathing.

“The Fear of Death” by Kubbler-Ross and “A Slice of Life” by Gordon are two reflective essays on death. Death is as real as any phenomenon and both the writers approach it from very different perspective. This term paper discusses death and how both the writers view it and how I view death personally, in addition my opinion of the two essays and how they regard death.

The first essay “The Fear of Death” by Kubbler-Ross deals with death as a reality. She thinks that death is a part of every person’s existence and everybody ahs to die, but at the same time death has been regarded with fear and loathing. Death brings about grief and pain but it also brings fear to those who have lost someone close to them. This is not a new phenomenon, this has been going on since ancient times and people have adopted different rituals to deal with this fear. This fear is universal and people in all ages have been frightened of death. However, the way people deal with death and parting has changes significantly.

By giving the example of the death of a farmer and how he had the time to say goodbye to everyone, stay at home and arrange everything, and even children were a part of this passing is very different from how people usually dies these days in cold and impersonal hospitals away from the loved ones and their emotions are disregarded in favor of the medical aid which is thought to be the most important.
