This essay discusses the downfall of Othello. Othello allowed himself to be manipulated by Iago, and he trust Iago more than anyone without doubt. Iago was jealous about the Othello’s position and always try to be on his level. So Iago made a plan to gradually destroy him and came through his mind in order to reach his evil plan. Iago change the Othello’s believed about Desdemona’s honesty and dastardly broke him emotionally and put sword on his back (Lukacs 2). Eventually, Othello find out that was tricked by Iago, but it was so late to change his situation and trust his wife instead of Iago.

So he had doubts about her before Iago began his plan to show Othello that his wife is unfaithful. In addition, when Iago reached to Desdemona’s handkerchief and planted in Caassio’s room, Desdemona was unable to prove about her honestly to her husband and she was a guiltless victim of Othello’s jealousy and Iago’s accusation. Another fact that made Othello downfall was his prejudice about his wife, he didn’t try to listen and allow Desdemona to explain and clarify about truth. Because he believed that he was always right and he should killed her because she will affair with more men (Shakespeare 752). If Othello was in a strong relationship with Desdemona, he would not prejudice and accusing her and he might found the truth by speaking with her before taking any wrong decision.
