It is quite sad to note that people are unable to recognize just how serious poverty is. The topic is still surrounded by many misunderstandings and myths and society very much still believes in them. The following report will study the issue of poverty which our society faces today and how the various classes within society are dealing with this problem.
Even though poverty exists in large numbers, what exactly is the root cause behind it? One of the primary causes of poverty is people not having adequate education. The education system which is currently in order in America denies poor students opportunities and access to be able to afford good quality education. Not having proper education leads to various problems and challenges for example not finding a good quality and high level paying job particularly when employment opportunities are on the downfall as it is due to the state of the economy.
Merchants have for a long time exploited the working class and the poor and have devised policies which would exploit them further and help them gain profit (Koppelman and Goodhart).
