In my view Stem cell research is very important. Human stem cell research holds enormous possibilities for contributing to our awareness of basic humans and can lead ultimately to cure for diseases. Even though it is not expected to forecast the results from basic research, these type of studies would present the real possibility for cure and ultimately for treatment for many diseases for which satisfactory cures do not exist.

Life threatening illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and diseases like Alzheimer’s disease  AND Parkinson’s Disease present constant challenges to the health and well-being of people everywhere. The knowledge leading to the advancement of techniques for growing human stem cells could lead to exceptional treatments and even cures for these and other diseases. According to NIH:

…research involving human pluripotent stem cells…promises new treatments and possible cures for many debilitating diseases and injuries, including Parkinson’s disease, diabetes, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, burns and spinal cord injuries. (National Institutes of Health)

There exists evidence from animal studies that stem cells can be prepared to differentiate into cells of choice, and that these cells will act suitably in their transplanted environment.
